The Super-Secret Recipe File:Cornbread muffins -- They're for the birds....

I don't own a bird. I don't even play one on tv.... But I'm a sucker for pathetic, starving creatures who really should be eating better....

2 boxes Jiffy corn muffin mix
3 eggs (I save the shells, crush 'em in a baggy, and mix 'em in the batter -- more calcium!)
2/3 c milk
1 Gerber's Junior size jar of sweet potatoes or carrots
1/2 c each frozen peas and corn (I just use 1 cup of frozen mixed veggies)
1/2 c cockatiel seed
1/2 c cockatiel pellets

Mix together. Bake in muffin tins or cake pans at 450*, 20-25 minutes, or until done.

It's easier to use muffin cups, frankly -- you can freeze the muffins, then just defrost 'em one at a time.

You can also use other proportions of seed/pellets -- for example, many prepared cockatiel seed mixes now contain pellets anyway. You could just use a full cup of 'tiel mix.... I experiment with the veggies, too -- sometimes I use California blend, or sometimes one with water chestnuts. You get the idea.
