| 6 C. coffee grounds (fresh) | 6 qt. boiling water | |
| 2 pinch baking soda | 16 C. white sugar | |
| 4 C. Everclear | 4 oz. vanilla | |
| 1 Pillow Case** |
Pour water over coffee grounds. Cover and let stand for 45 minutes. Strain through cheesecloth into large pot. Add sugar and bring to a boil. Simmer for 20 minutes and cool down at room temperature. After cooled down add Everclear and vanilla. Ready to drink!
Yields three gallons.
** The pillow case story...Bob is my boss at Seattle Golf Club and when I asked for his mom's recipe he told me this funny story. He called her asking her for it and she recited the ingredients. When they got to the pillow case, Bob asked what that was for. She replied "Well, I have never tried it but why can't you use it to strain the coffee?" Bob laughed and said "What about all the chemicals from washing the pillow case, Mom?" She replied, "No biggie honey, the Everclear will kill anything." There you go.
