The Super-Secret Recipe File: Kyth's clam chowder

2 medium potatoes, cubed       1 8-ounce can of clams, drained
1 bunch green onions, chopped       2 cups milk
1 teaspoon butter or margarine       salt and pepper to taste

Place the potatoes in a medium pot and cover with water. Cook for 30 minutes, or until soft. Remove from heat, drain, and mash lightly with a fork. They should be lumpy, but no longer in cubes. Add remaining ingredients and cook over low heat for 30 minutes.
